K.E.M.

Statements

she might as well sing, dance or act - that`s the way it is with true artists,
the choice of the medium comes second
it`s vital and fulfilling for her to act out the feelings that have piled up in her soul
a complete picture of the artist`s core doesn`t disclose until
we know that she had no other choice but being authentic
it`s her personality and attitude towards life that have made her what she is
she constantly calls for freedom, beauty and justice from life
but also respect for her childlike and divine artist`s,
beautiful ideals - and a noble request to expect this
however, how is that to work in a world, in which she has to live ?
before these paradisiac conditions are employed

no other way than that of an autodidact has been possible for her
her personality did not allow any system to have an impact on her
solely her contents and not the structures she has lived up to this very day
her painting is genuine, she doesn`t accept any compromises on behalf of complaisance
that`s the way I paint, that`s the way I am, should it be accepted - fine, if not - then not amazing nowadays in this regard her consistency is admirable
others would have followed varying trends of art that can be merchandised easily long ago, but she .....never

just this might bring her success, since it is just this that makes her oeuvre for lovers and collectors of art so attractive

A youthful energetic life and work

More than 165 single as well as group art exhibitions serve as impressive evidence of a truly unusual creative power, which has developed into a high-quality, subtle, and informal painting style with transcendental character.

The philosopy behind the work of art

Philosophy is reason in the realm of intellect. The thinkable is thought. According to Wittgenstein, "Whereof one cannot speak, thereof one must be silent."
It is in this spirit that the works of every artist are to be understood, when trying to convey a personal expression through the meta-language of art.
Especially obvious becomes this partial truth in the works of Eva Maria Korsche, as overcoming of one’s own and common situational realities, that creates the archetypical, mathematical, and informal structure of inescapable expressiveness.

Transcendental and meditative forms of expression

Very early on, she started to continuously improve her working technique. Already her early works reveal a gifted talent and sensitive creativity. The work of art, at last controlled by reason, unveils the empathetic and unconscious depth of the layers of our existence, and opens to the spectator a glance into the profundities of one’s own subsistence with its ambivalent facets. The opening nature of the content of one’s own personality in the work of art, is being compensated in its effect through K.E.M.’s painting technique. The unique expression thus created, conveys a kind of image experience that is transcendental, meditative and therapeutic.

The meta-language of art

Running, dripping partially squeezed directly out of the tube, the acrylic oil paint is applied to the pre-treated canvas. Subsequently begins the painting in of the surfaces. Placing fine touches, strokes, lines, dots, and nuances are breathing life into the painting, giving the coming into existence the final shape and semantic form. Colour fancies and dreams that have taken on form, not speaking in the language of science to our minds, but starting where mankind begins to doubt reason and embarking on a journey to find the existing, yet not tangible, inexplicable, just to pause for a moment at the expression of meta-language art, which doesn’t make the unspeakable speakable, but sensible and emotionally understandable.

New developments

A loss of energy, of creativity? For some time now it has become quiet. In the home studio new paintings in black and white, full of innovative stimulus are coming to existence. A tremendous load of power and abundance of clear defined shapes force themselves into the consciousness of the viewer, let them read the paintings like a book, and a piece of knowledge prevails. The colour is removed, has been instinctively subordinated to the clarity of statement and lets us anticipate what is still to come, if it breaks through and further evolves. A quantum leap of quality opens up to us and yet it’s still unmistakably “the old acquaintance”, pushing throughout the long drawn-out, metaphysical, mathematical chaos.

Teaching

Her look for the basic essentials, her colourful, rhythmic structural painting style with its archetypical sequences, has a regulative appeal to mind, soul and matter, and can thus be described as therapeutic and meditative. This effect noticed by many viewers and owners of her paintings, has prompted K.E.M. to intensify her training and course activity in single and group remedial teaching.
